Today’s #filmfriday is one of my favorites, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006). Ben Whishaw gives a great performance as Jean-Baptiste, a young man with an extraordinary sense of smell. Unfortunately, for as bountiful as his olfactory senses are, he is just as much lacking when it comes to being loved. This yearning for love drives him to create the most captivating perfume known to man, a task that quickly turns into a homicidal obsession. Perfume is based on the 1985 book of the same name that has been on my reading list for quite some time. Among Perfume’s many influences in pop culture is Nirvana’s song “Scentless Apprentice,” based on the novel which Kurt Cobain named as one of his favorite books! ⚗#perfumethestoryofamurderer
